It’s Fat Tuesday again, and I miss it

HAPPY MARDI GRAS!

Mike took me out to celebrate. Even though actual Mardi Gras themed celebrations are far & in between up here. I wanted to go to Louisiana Express for some gumbo, but it’s still icy and it was supposed to rain. So we’ll go Saturday. I still have a King Cake and am going to make shrimp jambalaya and black eyed peas <3.

I really miss the mardi gras season… it was one of the funnest times of the year growing up. Parades…. food….. friends & family…. ~~sigh~~ OH well. I’ll be over it tomorrow.

I’m rambling. Thank you everyone for your comments about the place I’m buying! I truly appreciate it! More on that to come! I’m just tired right now :bai:

Yeah, I don’t think I have ever truly celebrated Mardi Gras before. The closest I’ve come is wearing the bead necklace in elementary. Lol.

Happy Mardi Gras to you to! I hope the weather clears up so you’re able to spend some time out. The weather here has been crazy! Hailing, sunny, windy, rainy, and cloudy all in one day.

i’ve never celebrated mardi gras. i’m not really sure what it is. over here in aus, the term mardi gras is normally used for the “gay and lesbian mardi gras” which is on once a year i think.

I’ve never been able to celebrate it what with being in California and all. I’ve only seen Mardi Gras thingies in Hollywood on TV because of all the bars and clubs. But no one in the tri-county that I live in, celebrates it. o.o

I’m guessing that Mardi Gras is the same thing as Carnival. In my country we only have 2 HUGE celebrations: New Year’s and Carnival. The whole country explodes with life and comes together like one big heart beating.

Happy Mardi Gras!

Here we celebrate faschnacht day more than Mardi Gras. It’s a PA Dutch thing, and not nearly as exciting. It mainly just involves eating faschnacts (donuts).

I don’t know what jambalaya is but there’s an episode of Scrubs where J.D keeps mentioning it, so whenever I see that word it makes me laugh ^^
