Bloomingdale’s Catalog

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 | 44 Comments

Thanks everyone about the shoes! I couldn’t for the life of me remember WTF the shoes were called! Dr. Martens!!! I KNEW they were a popular 90’s shoe! LOOOOOOOOL Maybe I’ll try out these plaid ones this weekend. There’s a store nearby with them in stock. The red ones are the one’s Nana was wearing!

They come in pink too~~

I thought I’d share a few scans of the Bloomingdale’s mailer/catalog~! There were a few looks in there that I liked for spring :driftingheart:

First off there was a page dedicated to bandeaux! [What’s a bandeaux?] I actually bought a Free People one for $8.00 a while ago!!!! Originally $30.00, heehee. I can’t wait to wear it in summer under tanks and such

The Free People bandeaux I got at Bloomingdale’s
I think I took the photo of it upside down? LOL, whoops

I actually tried on the Free People top below! It’s really, really pretty and so spring time! I didn’t buy it though… $88. :haha:

I love mannish styles for work~

I’m getting my Free People dress altered at the moment. I’m sooooo happy to be doing this! I ended up eloping in the dress 2 years ago~ it’s very folk-style. I was so sad it didn’t really fit after I lost weight this summer. But I took it to a place near my office and they’re taking up the straps and taking it in about 2 inches on each side! Yaaaaaaay! It came to $35. It seems like an OK price and I liked the woman working there. So hopefully their work is good!

The above is an original photo of the dress off my poupee closet, LOL.

I want to do a coordinate like this one from CUTiE!

I need to blog about my Liz Lisa replica jean shirt I got a few weeks ago on Yesstyle still!

I’ll do that next entry~~~
I’m off to bed now!!

Can’t believe I got to blog AGAIN!! :haha:

Formspring
I’ve actually answered most the questions I’ve gotten! hahhaa

Oooh, man Bloomingdale’s is so exp isn’t it? I’ve never actually been in one, but the customers at Macy’s say so.
That little folkie top is so pretty too. You really can pull anything off. :3

I like those pink plaid shoes, very cool and unusual^^

Thanks for sharing the Bloomingdale’s catalog, lots of interesting photos in there! If I was thinner and had nice arms I would try the bandeaux, it’s a bit difficult but I always have to look for shirts that almost reach my elbows.

I like the stripe shirt and blazer look, but it’s a bit last season now I think?

I hope the tailoring works out well on your dress, because it will be soooo cute when you replicate that look!

Yea looks like a lot of trends are carrying over season after season lately. Bad economy perhaps? LOL people don’t want to buy all new things maybe LOL

Haahahahaaa! Well it’s not really a secret. I just used livestrong.com to count calories and stopped eating sugary junk food nonstop. Also switched to diet soda and fresh fruits. Everything I did I tagged with “diet”

Wow, I would have never recognised that as Bloomie’s catalogue!! :O Usually they have such boring ‘adult’ styles in there~ this one actually looks young & fresh!
It’s nice to see that bandeaus are back for this spring/summer season I have a plain black one, but I always wanted that sparkly one from FP! Lucky you, haha!
Can’t wait to see you in your old-new dress & with the denim shirt~ I really did think you got it from a Japanese shop! You’re the best for picking out the best lookalikes on Yesstyle, haha

Ooh I love shimmery bandeaux - I got a cobalt blue one from H&M after a brief stint loving Cory Kennedy - (brief meaning is lasted like 4 days)

I love the black Docs with the little flowers on their website *sigh* The red ones are pretty awesome because they seem to go with more than the pink would - but go with your instinct!

Ow $88 =o Do the prices in your area eventually go down after a while? I don’t know about anywhere else but over here stuff seems to get placed on the shelves already on sale (or so they make it seem)

jenny said
March 4, 2010 @ 11:42 am

Once the season passes items that are left slowly drop in price season by season until they sell. Sometimes I can snag something for 75% off! But usually by then it’s nearly a year old item but I don’t care LOL

Ever since I saw these Dr. Martens boots I’ve been dying to get one.
(Sucks being poor!) However, I saw online sprees doing sprees for “Dr Martens Inspired Boots” spree and now my problem is not the money issue but on what color to get. Haha!

I used to like bandeaux, but then I got scared that it’ll create this permanent “layer” at the side, near your armpits and stopped wearing them. :(

jenny said
March 4, 2010 @ 2:45 pm

Haahaa yea I can’t decide which I prefer either in color!

LOOOOL I don’t think the layer thing would actually happen? Unless you lived in it 24/7 and even then seems unlikely.

My friend had a purple pair of DM’s for YEARS and only recently had to replace them. They’re good hardy boots

Aww that dress is gorgeous You talking of eloping and having to get the dress altered reminds me of my wedding day… my little sister altered my dress for me and I was so anxious to get it back but it was worth it because the fit was amazing on the day

Omg I want a bandeau for spring and summer time I love the sailor stripe tanks too. I haven’t really bought any clothes since December I think. D: I want some summer stuff, but even in Florida it remains too cool for spring clothes, at least by our standards

Good luck with the Docs! The plaid reminds me of punk/grunge style that was popular in hs~

I like some of Free People’s products, but they’re so expensive. Are they a good quality store? We don’t have an actual store here, wasn’t sure if they were like Abercrombie, expensive stuff that falls apart easily~ :(

I love bandeaus! That FP one is fabulous. I’ll have to try one out sometime, not sure if they’d work for me

Can’t wait to see your Cutie coordinate ^o^v

jenny said
March 4, 2010 @ 10:28 pm

The quality is pretty good actually. Washes well. I WILL say that buying it from the store = better quality than from bloomingdale’s. I guess Bloomingdale’s treats their stuff like sh*t because I’ve only ever had issues with FP stuff I’ve bought from them (and have taken it back!)

March 5, 2010 @ 12:09 am

i have to check out the bloomingdales in san francisco.. haven’t went in there yet, but i imagine it’s as expensive as neiman marcus? btw, i love love those shoes!! ive been looking for a pair like that myself since i seen kanako wearing them in some of her coordinates. that’s a cute dress you’re getting altered. what a pretty dress to elope in

jenny said
March 5, 2010 @ 12:54 pm

Yes they sell the same brands though I personally think Neiman Marcus stores are nicer looking. Bloomingdale’s has better sales~
